Our Fish Fusion is a top quality fish hydrolysate that is an excellent all purpose fertilizer and sourced specifically for compost tea.  It contains a masterful blend of fish, crab and shrimp hydrolysate! It can be used in any situation as a nitrogen input and trace-mineral additive, constantly replenishing and rebuilding your soil and adding chitin to increase to the natural immune systems of your plants. Cold processed and enzymatically digested, Fish Fusion retains maximum nutritional value for soil microbes. Most ideal for compost tea, our fish product is not stabilized with phosphoric acid like most fish products.  Most fish emulsion doesn’t mention how it is stabilized, but you’ll know just by looking at the NPK.  If the P is high, you now know why!

Cold processed fish is superior to hot processed fish because the cold process preserves more of the nutritional value of the fish, including amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. A study by Ghaedi et al. (2018) found that cold processing resulted in a higher concentration of amino acids in fish hydrolysate compared to hot processing. This is important because amino acids are essential for plant growth and development. Additionally, cold processing does not destroy enzymes that are beneficial for soil health, such as chitinase, which breaks down chitin and releases nutrients for plant uptake.

Chitin is a complex carbohydrate found in the shells of crustaceans such as crabs and shrimp. It has been shown to have several benefits in agriculture, including stimulating the plant’s immune system and improving soil health. Chitin stimulates the plant’s systemic acquired resistance (SAR) response, which enhances the plant’s ability to defend against pathogens and pests. A study by Shahzad et al. (2017) found that chitin treatment induced the expression of genes related to SAR in tomato plants. Chitin also stimulates the growth of beneficial soil microorganisms, which can help control plant diseases and improve soil fertility. A study by Tsai et al. (2017) found that chitin application increased the abundance of beneficial soil bacteria and reduced the incidence of soil-borne diseases in tomato plants.
